The
highlights.
Illegal clothing does spot color screen
printing and embroidery on just about all types of fabric
as well as vinyl graphics on cars, boats, signs, motorcycles
etc. our business philosophy is to provide a quality service
at a fair price and always treat our customers with respect.
How
did it start?
At
the age of 13 keith lodge did his first art design for a
company in northwood n.h. who was selling printed apparel
for northwood lake. the design was a cartoon drawing of
2 men in a canoe with a lochness style monster attacking
them that would be printed on hats. although it would be
years before he did another design he never forgot how much
fun it was to see his art printed on a hat.
Then in the fall of 2000 at the age of 29 keith began designing
ideas for screen printed clothing on a computer built by
his uncle in '99. At the time the only program he was using
was ms word and powerpoint, so as you can imagine the designs
were pretty basic. not long after a friend introduced him
to Adobe Illustrator he began having some of his designs
printed which he sold to friends and family.
In 2004 he bought a basic 4 color press which by research
and trial and error learned to do his own screen printing.
After doing this for about 1 year from home the opportunity
became available to get a retail space and print full time.
Now Illegal clothing is going on it's third year as a printing
company and is expanding it's customer base every day. In
the past year alone (2006-2007) we have increased business
by 40%. now illegal clothing prints sports, casual and business.
We've added more equipment and are now able to do athletic
numering as well as vinyl graphics for vehicles, signs or
whatever.
Oh
and as far as the business name, like most of his ideas
it just came to him one day when he first decided to make
a business out of the t-shirt printing thing and it doesn't
really mean anything, other than...
"if
it's fun it's probably illegal!!!"
